The American Rocky Lai & Associates Inc. and Danang City on Monday signed an agreement, allowing the former to develop infrastructure for the first information technology park project in the locality.
Both sides’ representatives declined to reveal specific capital figures but stressed that this was the biggest IT project in the city in particular and in the central region in general.
Accordingly, the Texas-based group will hire 131 hectares in Hoa Vang District for 50 years and build the area into a green, hi-tech and environment-friendly park as per the provincial authority’s requirement.
Van Huu Chien, chairman of Danang City, told the Daily that the investor would enjoy preferential land rents and stable technical infrastructures in terms of power, water and telecommunications services offered by the city.
Rocky Lai pledged to pay the rent for the whole project term within 90 days upon its receipt of the investment certificate.
As for the investment progress, the scheme will be conducted in two phases. The first phase covering 60 hectares is planned to be finished within 2012-2013, while the second one will be deployed from 2014 to 2015 on a 71-hectare area.
Rocky Lai’s representative Paul Ta said Danang has emerged as an attractive destination among investors developing software projects.
Rocky Lai & Associates Inc. reportedly has strong experiences in the construction and operation of industrial parks, export processing zones and shopping centers and hotels.
