National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines announced yesterday that it will increase the number of night flights and impose restrictions for passengers transporting peach, apricot, and kumquat trees during peak times of the upcoming Lunar New Year.
The first daily domestic flights will depart at 5.30am and the last at 11.30pm. Vietnam Airlines will also operate around the clock to meet the holiday demand from January 14 to January 22 and from January 24 to February 6 on the Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh City routes.
The carrier will also apply new regulations for transporting holiday trees on domestic flights from January 2 to February 1.
In addition, it is co-operating with five road transport companies to help passengers move conveniently from the airport to the centre city.
